Synopsis
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

A vulnerability has been found in GDK-PixBuf that may allow a remote
attacker to execute arbitrary code.

Background
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

GDK-PixBuf is an image loading library for GTK+.

Affected packages
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

——————————————————————-
Package / Vulnerable / Unaffected
——————————————————————-
1 x11-libs/gdk-pixbuf =3D 2.36.11=20

Description
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

Several integer overflows were discovered in GDK-PixBuf’s gif_get_lzw
function.

Impact
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

A remote attacker, by enticing a user to process a specially crafted
image file, could execute arbitrary code or cause a Denial of Service
condition.

Workaround
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

There is no known workaround at this time.

Resolution
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

All GDK-PixBuf users should upgrade to the latest version:

# emerge –sync
# emerge –ask –oneshot –verbose “>=3Dx11-libs/gdk-pixbuf-2.36.11″
