openssh vulnerability ==========================================================================
A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:
– Ubuntu 20.10 – Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
OpenSSH could be made to crash or run programs if it received specially crafted network traffic.
Software Description: – openssh: secure shell (SSH) for secure access to remote machines
It was discovered that the OpenSSH ssh-agent incorrectly handled memory. A remote attacker able to connect to the agent could use this issue to cause it to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code.
Update instructions:
The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions:
Ubuntu 20.10: openssh-client 1:8.3p1-1ubuntu0.1
Ubuntu 20.04 LTS: openssh-client 1:8.2p1-4ubuntu0.2
In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
